Thailand’s
moves towards aviation liberalization began in 1995, when the government
amended long- standing policy to allow more than one national flag
carrier. Since then until now, with the global and Thailand’s national
open- sky policy, Thailand
has both domestic and international airlines with the majors ones
namely Thai Airways International and Bangkok Airways. Besides,
there are low- fare but full- frills airline like Phuket Air and
the emerging low- cost or no- frills subsidiary airlines such as
Orient Thai Airlines, Thai Air Asia and Nok Air.
Thailand
now has 109 airports to support the growing industry. Among these
are four major international airports, namely Bangkok, Chiang Mai,
Phuket and Had Yai. Another under- construction one is Suvarnabhumi
Airport. All four international airports provides comfortable and
convenience to both domestic and international travelers, with professional
and hospitable airliners. |
