Hows it going?
This is the latest in our travel plans
(this is only for Edel and me). We will be staying in the Deevana
Patong hotel for five nights (the 29th to the 3rd of Aug), then
we would like to fly to Vietnam on Wed 3rd until the 9th and
then we would like to go to Bangkok to go out with you? we don't
want to fly to Ho Chi Minh, we would like to fly to the airport
in the north of Vietnam as we hear that it is not too long from
the beach and also there is an area not too far away to get
clothes made??? What do you think
of this? Let us know of any excursions also. We're having an
amazing time here, thanks for all your help and organisation.

"I
had a great time scuba diving in Phuket this July. I took
a one day diving package arranged with the help of MoreThailand.com
and you couldn't ask for better weather or diving conditions.
We went diving at Racha Yai, a beautiful reef which was in
excellent shape despite the recent tsunami tragedy. The diving
company -- South Siam Divers in Phuket -- was a first class
outfit with excellent divemaster guides and scuba equipment.
And, the boat was one of the biggest and best equipped of
any I have been on. For just 2500 baht per day (which includes
the cost of equipment rental, transport to and from your hotel,
and meals/refreshments) it's one of the best values around."
Cheers

ich hoffe, es geht Ihnen gut!
Ich bin wieder gut in Bangkok angekommen.
Das Volunteer-Programm war eine sehr interessante Erfahrung
fuer mich.
gekuemmert.
Mr. Gregory Taylor
the 26 year- old English teacher
from Ashbury College, Canada
“I was in Canada when the news about
Tsunami severe hit at the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and Indonesia
shocked the world. After I heard about the news, I have helped
the affected people through devoting money through websites
and playing music to have money from the passers- by. Actually,
devoting money yields much benefit, but personally I would see
that building good things to society is much more important.
The first moment I heard and saw the news from media like television
or newspaper, the news made me very frightened and desperate.
But when I was at the affected areas in Thailand, where traits
of destruction and ruins are still in the sight, and when I
talked with and got to know the stories of them about their
lives after the disaster, especially children who lost their
families, houses and properties, my deeper feeling told me that
hope is still there. It’s not sort of desperate sorrow, but
in more positive way I feel. We should look in the positive
side of what have been left, to bring hope back to carry life
on”.
Ms. Jennifer Kelly
English teacher from Jackson
Elementary School, Maryland, USA
She said that when she knew the news
of Tsunami, she wanted to help them but had to wait until the
summer vacation. Then she came here as a volunteer teacher for
two weeks. Possibly, she wishes to stay here longer and may
ask her school in USA for a permission to come back here again.
As a teacher, she thinks she could utilize her knowledge and
experience and try her best to help these children.
“The first time I saw them, I feel something in side. I think
the most important thing is I wish everything to recover as
soon as possible; at least the children’ s schools, because
seeing the destruction everyday is not good for children. I
hope that either the school or the foundation’s activities can
help them forget bad things more or less”.
Becky Halton, from Ashbury College, Canada
“I came here not because of the grade,
the credit or I had to. But I really want to be a volunteer
here. Now I realize that their problem exists and I will tell
all my friends about it when I return to Canada. If possible,
I want to ask them to come. It is very meaningful experience”.
